Weeks 13-16: Very similar to the first trimester. Less nausea overall, but more vomiting, interestingly enough. I feel the best in the morning and early afternoon, and at about 6PM I start to shut down and feel generally ill.
The growing pains have started. I can feel a lot of muscle strain. The blood flow in my legs has also started to suffer and show the effects of my rapidly growing baby (at 16 weeks I am measuring the same as a 26 week single pregnancy). Varicose veins are not pretty! My joints are also shifting because sometimes when I stand up after sitting or laying it takes them a while to support me enough to walk.
Standing or walking for even short periods of 15 minutes or so has become difficult. A trip to the grocery store at week 14 put me in bed for the rest of the day, it made me so tired. Standing up long enough to make my kids lunch causes my stomach to tighten and hurt. I remember feeling this way the last 7 or so weeks of my previous pregnancies.
Week 17: I think I have started feeling some tiny kicks and punches here and there, mostly when I am lying down and still. I'm not positive, but I hope that's what it is :)
My legs have really given me problems this week. I am having to wear compression socks just to make walking possible. Without them, doing anything that requires walking or standing is painful and my legs throb until I get them on. I sure wish they made compression socks in cute designs - pink and purple stripes or something!
I haven't been as sleepy as I was in previous weeks. Now I am more physically exhausted than sleepy. I am not officially on bedrest, but I take it as easy as possible and spend most of my day with my legs up.
I have had some heart throbbing issues this week as well. I can feel it in my neck, my ears, other parts of my chest. I know I have a LOT more blood pumping through my system so I am sure that's what it is, but I plan on talking to my doctor about it at my 18 week appointment.
